Bahia Honda State Park - FLORIDA KEYS

This was without a doubt the most difficult RV reservation to land, and we were lucky enough to score four nights in a water front spot with the help from a local friend. (Thanks, Kelly!)

This place is incredible! Even though the weather wasn't perfect during our stay, we still had so much fun fishing, riding bikes, walking on the beach, and hiking up to the old Flagler Railroad Bridge. I can see why this Florida State Park earns top honors from many campers.

"Along with its iconic Florida Keys scenery, sandy beaches, gin-clear waters and magnificent sunsets, the park is known for balmy sea breezes that caress the shores year-round." -FSP

Although there are beaches galore here, we spent most of our time fishing in a great spot we found. We reeled in a few newbies for us, including Sawyer's first grouper, and had the best time!

We'd jump at the chance to get to stay here again! You could stay for the season and never explore it all! There are several different campground areas here, and we stayed in the Buttonwood Campground. The sites are a little bit tighter than Curry Hammock, but still very spacious, especially for Florida! These sites have water and electric, and there is a dump station on site. There are also tent sites, non electric sites, beach front sites, and cabins. The amenities and experiences are the full Florida Keys package:

  • Beaches

  • Swimming

  • Bicycling

  • Birding

  • Fishing

  • Marina

  • Snorkeling Tours

  • Scuba Diving

  • Snorkeling Gear & Kayak Rentals

  • Shelling

  • Star Gazing

  • Historic Site & Info

  • Wildlife Viewing

  • and more!
