The boys and Ray went with our friend, Roy, one morning to play Coyote Springs. About an hour drive from Mesquite (and about that far from Vegas as well), the boys described it as literally in the middle of nowhere. They said that they felt like they were driving off into the empty desert, then all of a sudden a pro shop appears. Hidden beyond the pro shop is the gorgeous Jack Nicklaus designed golf course.
Raymond absolutely loved this course, and said it ranks in top 2 that he's ever played. The course was in immaculate condition with huge undulating greens, and the boys were thrilled to get to play it. (Sawyer & Stuart pulled off a 105 and 107 from the women's tees, respectively.) Raymond came into the club house with a 79. Sawyer and Raymond played a second round on the course before we left town, and still loved it even though the wind picked up on the back nine. They are all already itching to go back.
Stuart thought it was so cool that there was such a green golf course with so many ponds hidden away in the desert. He was also a little impressed with the giant fish lurking in the waters.
Sawyer thought it was "really cool with hard, hard, hard pin placements."
