Epic Golf Season

As we near the end of summer, we are slowly preparing ourselves to stash the golf clubs away for winter. We had a truly awesome summer of golf with the kids, and we are also so thankful that we were able to play through all seasons this past year as we travelled the country.

The First Security Bank Junior Golf Tour provides such great opportunities for our kids to meet other young golfers, get competition experience, and play so many great courses.

This year, Stuart went undefeated in the 7-9 year-old division. At the championship round at Cottonwood Hills Executive Par-3 course in August, Stuart won the tournament with a 28, his best score yet, and also made a HOLE-IN-ONE on #5 with his 8 iron. It was such an exciting day! I love being his caddy and watching him play golf. He really loves the game.

Harper also had an amazing year of golf, her first year of competition. She also won several tournaments in the 7-9 year-old division, and was proud to bring home the championship trophy. Her favorite part of playing this year was getting to spend time with her friends Tyler and Julia on the course, as well as meeting some new friends too.

Sawyer had a great year at tournaments too. He won a tournament and placed in the top four in many. His 10-11 year-old division is very competitive with many talented golfers, and he really challenged himself as a golfer this year. He shot 69 on 18 holes at the championship round, coming in at 4th by one stroke, and we are so proud of him!

LIVINGSTON GOLF COURSE

The boys competed in the Junior Club Championship in late August (against each other because they were the only junior members to compete that day.) They shot 44 and 46 after a cutthroat round from the ladies' tees. NOTE: This also means that both of the boys are giving me a run for my money from my own tee box now. We're so proud of how much they've improved and pushed themselves over the summer.

This summer, Raymond filled a vacated seat on the golf board, which has opened the door for us to help support the course in several new ways. We took the lead in helping the course break ground and complete two new tee boxes on #3 - hopefully the beginning of several new improvements. We also took part in a few tournaments with friends, which was a blast. On Stuart's 10th birthday, he and Raymond played in the Labor Day scramble at LGC and shot a 68 together. It's been another amazing summer at our home course!
